SYNOPSIS:
The history of Christianity is usually divided into these four periods: The Early Church, the Middle Ages, the Reformation and the Modern Age.
After examining the first three periods, we move on to explore the Modern Age (AD 1750 to present). We look at the rise of the Enlightenment and its impact on Christianity. We also consider how this is challenged by the onset of postmodernity. Finally, we delve into the shift in global Christianity happening in our time.
Come and join us as we examine episodes and movements in the recent history of the church which have exercised a profound impact on us and calls for our response.
(It is not necessary for you to have attended the earlier history courses to benefit from this course.)
