Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home is seeking dedicated volunteers to join our Befriender Programme. As a befriender, you will support our children and youths, both in-care and post-care, helping them thrive and grow.

ROLES OF BEFRIENDERS

In-Care Befriending:

• Provide Christian nurturing and help children and youth experience God’s love.
• Help them acquire Christian values and a positive lifestyle.
• Befriend and accompany them to Sunday School/Church Services during home leave.

RECRUITMENT CRITERIA

Post-Care Befriending:

• Support children and youth after reintegration into their families, ensuring they stay on the right path.
• Befriend parents/caregivers and assist in family reunification.

Volunteers can choose to participate in either or both roles.

New befrienders will receive comprehensive support and work alongside our staff to address the diverse needs of the children, young adults, and families we serve.

• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Able to commit for at least 2 years.
• Available for 2-3 hours, twice a month.
• Passionate about helping disadvantaged youths/children.
• Attend an introductory briefing and interview before recruitment.
• Complete all 5 core training sessions before assignment.
• Clear MSF screening
